Lidl Lawnmower Review 2024 – Parkside Electric

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

After reviewing several electric Lawnmowers across the UK, we wanted to complete our Lidl Lawnmower review on the Parkside Electric lawnmowers to see how they perform and how they compare to other branded electric lawnmowers in the market.

There are 2 main mowing options available of Lidl lawnmowers and they are the Parkside Corded Electric lawnmower and the Parkside Cordless Electric lawnmower and the corded version tends to be a good deal cheaper than the cordless mower.

Comparisons

Stock availability of the Parkside Electric lawnmowers can be unreliable at times as they are only available to buy at certain times of the year so we have included alternative electric lawnmowers for you to consider in the event that the Parkside Lawnmowers are out of stock when you visit. We will give you comparison information of the Parkside Lawnmowers versus these alternative brands so you can see for yourself if they can be a good fit for your own lawn mowing needs.

Corded vs Cordless

If your own lawn is a small town house type garden lawn that is only 10 or 12m long, then the lower priced Parkside corded electric lawnmower will do the trick for you, however if you lawn is much larger and up to 500m2 (25m long by 20m wide), then you should choose the Parkside cordless lawnmower instead for an easier life and improved mowing work experience.

Price Advantage

One thing that Lidl are good at is offering you competitively priced Lawnmowers that are hard to beat by anyone else in the market. They have huge buying power and so they can buy in bulk at low prices and in turn offer you great savings at consumer level.

The only drawback is that there doesn’t seem to be a consistent offer of stock availability in the stores which is why we have included our alternative branded recommendations at the end of this page.

Lidl Corded Electric Lawnmower Review

Parkside Corded Electric Lawnmower 32cm 1300W

The first lawnmower at Lidl is the Parkside Corded Electric Lawnmower which mows at 32cm wide and operates at a power level of 1300W. There are just 3 mow height settings that range from 2cm up to 6cm and one big attraction is the lightweight design for pushing as this mowing machine only weighs approx. 8kg.

You can fold down the handles after use, the grass box has a grass clippings capacity of 30 litres and the length of the power cable is 10m long so you may need an extension cord depending on your own garden lawn size

Price: £80 - £120

Pros for the Lidl Parkside Corded Lawnmower

  • Affordable low priced lawnmower for people seeking the lowest possible price
  • The lightweight design frame makes the chore of a pushing a lawnmower for 20-30 minutes a lot easier to do
  • There are no batteries, recharging, fuels or oils to worry about as all you have to do is plug it in and press the start button so it’s a simple and effective low cost environmentally friendly lawnmower.

Cons for the Lidl Parkside Corded Lawnmower

  • The length of the power cable is only 10m long where several other brands can be 12m long
  • As it is so small, it is really only suitable for small garden lawns approx. 150m2 in our opinion (12.5m long by 12m wide average)
  • It lacks the power needed for thicker denser and tall grasses so you need to mow more regularly instead of letting the grass grow out of control
  • Stock availability is limited to certain times of the year only

Lidl Cordless Electric Lawnmower Review

Parkside Cordless Lawnmower 43cm 40V

The second Lidl lawnmower to consider is the Parkside Cordless Lawnmower which mows at a wider width of 43cm and offers a battery power level of 40V combined which is pretty much standard for lower level cordless battery lawnmowers in the market.

There are 2 batteries each offering 20V each and the charging unit is included in the box delivery. There is a good selection of 7 mowing heights to choose from that range from 25mm to 75mm and it has a brushless motor which goes a long way to improve the efficiency and longevity of the lawnmower.

Recharging the battery takes 1 hour and 30 minutes on average and you can expect a mowing runtime from the batteries of 15 to 25 minutes depending on your grass and terrain condition. Lighter trim mowing runtimes will be longer than tougher denser mowing runtimes as denser grasses will deplete the battery quicker. The grass collection unit is larger at 50 litre capacity and it is designed for larger lawn sizes average 450m2 to 500m2

Price: £180 - £230

Compare: Bosch Lawnmowers @ Amazon

Pros for the Lidl Parkside Cordless Lawnmower

  • Mowing width of 43cm is impressive and 13m wider than the Parkside corded lawnmower version
  • There is no need to worry about a cable on the lawn as you work or the hassle associated with extension cords so you have more freedom to cover larger lawn areas
  • Collection of the grass clippings is quite good and there is plenty of room in the grass collection box (20 litre more than the Parkside corded lawnmower)

Cons for the Lidl Parkside Corded Lawnmower

  • Stock availability tends to be very limited – it appears in stock and it then sells out very quickly so you need to act fast when it comes on sale
  • Denser and taller grasses will deplete the battery power a lot quicker than expected
  • There is no self-propelled support and no rear rollers and the recharging is longer than other brands we have reviewed
  • The weight of this Lidl cordless lawnmower from Parkside is approx. 20kg so it requires a lot more effort on your side to push it
  • Your mowing time is limited to the life of the battery charge so you may find yourself having to stop and recharge the battery while in the middle of a mowing job.

Conclusion

Would we buy the Parkside Electric Lawnmower? The corded Parkside lawnmower is just too small and narrow for our needs so we would prefer an alternative branded wider corded lawnmower instead to the honest. Yes, we would buy the cordless Parkside lawnmower but the main problem is trying to get your hands on one as stock availability is just too limited from what we have seen

Verdict

When it comes down to it, we would prefer to stick with a more widely recognised brand that offers different sizes, more mowing options and certainly more reliability when it comes to stock levels such as the Spear and Jackson Electric lawnmowers on sale with Argos  - find out more below…
